The Village of Glendale Heights is excited to present the annual "Show & Shine" Car Show and Swap Meet in September. The car show includes 18 vehicle classes, food, music, games and crafts. Viewing admission is free!

This annual event has raised over $320,000 for a number of different charities. This year's event benefits Make-A-Wish Illinois, the FOP Lodge 52 Community Enrichment Fund and the Glendale Heights Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Fund.

Join us in the spring at the Linda Jackson Center for Senior Citizens for our annual Breakfast with the Easter Bunny. An all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast will be served and includes sausage and a beverage. Photos with the Easter Bunny will also be available. Register today for the Annual Glendale Lakes Golf Club Spring Fling in April. This 4-person scramble is limited to 36 teams per day. The cost to play in the event is $340 per team. Celebrated annually on the first Tuesday in August, the Glendale Heights Police Department invites you and your family to join them to show your support for crime and drug prevention in Glendale Heights.
This free event is open to all residents and is meant to raise awareness about crime prevention in our community. The Police Department coordinates an evening of fun featuring a police dunk tank, games, face painting, a visit from McGruff the crime fighting mascot, and emergency apparatus demonstrations by the Glenside and Bloomgingdale Fire Protection Districts.

The Village of Glendale Heights remembers Patriot Day on its anniversary every year with a silent parade of police vehicles, first responders and a candlelight service. Please join the Mayor, the Village Board of Trustees, our Police and Fire personnel, neighbors and friends for a moment of silence and reflection on Patriot Day, September 11 at 7:15pm.

Grab your tackle box and your poles for a great day of fishing in October! The "catch and release" derby is designed to be buckets of fun with many chances to win prizes. The Village of Glendale Heights in conjunction with the Glendale Heights Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) will host this annual event, offering awards and prize packages to the heaviest catches. Trophies will be awarded in the following age categories: 6 years & under, 7-10 years and 11-15 years.

The Glendale Heights Police Department encourages children to trick-or-treat down the streets of Safety Town on October 31! There will be friendly ghosts and goblins, fairies and witches, and other characters to treat each child. Make sure to pass through the Safety Town Schoolhouse for a spooky trick! Children should bring a container or bag to collect candy.
This end of the year event will be a four person scramble held in November at the Glendale Lakes Golf Club. The Turkey Shoot is $320/team with each person receiving golf, cart, breakfast, lunch, dinner and don't forget a turkey to take home with you. Held every year on November 11 at 11:00am at Veterans Memorial Park, 220 Civic Center Plaza. The event includes a flag and color guard presentation, rifle salute and a tribute to our fallen warriors.
The Village of Glendale Heights invites all residents to participate in the Tree Lighting Ceremony, held at 6:00pm on the Monday following Thanksgiving. Holiday decor and lights will decorate the Civic Center Campus. Enjoy the sounds of the holidays through the performance of Glendale Heights' choral groups and share the holiday spirit as the Mayor and special guest Santa Claus illuminate the Civic Center Complex with just a flick of the switch! Then be sure to stop by the Center for Senior Citizens after the ceremony to warm up with free refreshments.
Visit the Historic House at 311 Windy Point Drive and experience what a "Victorian Christmas" might have been like 100 years ago! Admission is free and refreshments will be served. Tours of the home will be off ered and children will have the opportunity to make a Victorian decoration to take home.
Come visit Santa Claus at the Glendale Lakes Golf Club in December and tell him what is on your wish list while having an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast. The price of an adult breakfast is $5 and a children's breakfast is $3. Photos with Mr. and Mrs. Claus are $2. No registration is required and the event fee is paid at the door.
Spread holiday cheer to individuals and families financially unable to purchase gifts or a holiday meal for their family this season. Beginning in November, tree gift tags listing wished for items will be decorating trees located on the 1st floors of the Civic Center Complex, the Sports Hub and the Linda Jackson Center for Senior Citizens. It is the goal to have a bare tree for the holiday season, so that all family members pre-registered in the program receive a gift.
