The Human Resources Division accepts applications for employment and tests potential candidates, processes the hiring documents and maintain all personnel and payroll records for every employee working for the Village. All benefits are administered and kept current by the Human Resources Department.

Police Officers

The Village of Glendale Heights Police Department is responsible for hiring police officers. When they are accepting applications for testing, the position will be listed above and you may download the police officer application and testing instructions by clicking on the job title.

Internship Opportunities

The Village of Glendale Heights accepts applications on an ongoing bases for students enrolled at an accredited college or university studying Public Administration, Human Resources, Public Relations, Public Affairs, Parks, Recreation and Leisure, Criminal Justice, Building and Community Development, and Social Services.

Assistance for Your Job Search

DuPage County Workforce Development, located in the workNet DuPage Career Center, offers free services to help people on their path to employment, including:

This initiative is for DuPage County youth ages 18 to 24. MYWay will introduce area youth to the good career options available in manufacturing with:

  • Job postings and job search guidance available through their blog, DuPage At Work.
  • Assistance with resume writing and preparing for job interviews. Job seekers may also be eligible to receive funding for training, to get new skills or certifications.
  • Their youth program (for young adults ages 18 to 24) helps eligible youth start good careers. The program provides career planning, paid internships, and possible scholarships for going to school or getting training.

ConstructionWorks, powered by the Illinois Tollway

In December 2018, the Illinois Tollway formally launched its ConstructionWorks job assistance program. This initiative is designed to connect unemployed and under-employed residents in Northern Illinois with long-term employment opportunities in the construction industry.

To qualify for the ConstructionWorks program, interested candidates must meet all of the following criteria:

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • Unemployed or Under-employed
  • Reside within one of the 12 counties served by ConstructionWorks
