The Public Relations division is responsible for planning, directing and implementing all public relations strategies and initiatives for the Village. The Public Relations is also responsible for coordinating outreach to the community through the Villageʹs many print publications, the Village website, social media, and other specialized forms of media. This division also oversees the daily activities of the Village cable access channel, GHTV.

Public Relations commits to preserve the integrity of the Village of Glendale Heights by providing clear, concise, accurate, and timely information to all internal and external environments through the media available. Public Relations continuing objective is to encourage a credible, open channel of communication to the public while integrating with the Village's Mission Statement to improve the quality of life in the community.

Social Media Policy

The purpose of this social media policy is to provide information about the Village of Glendale Heights services and programs, as well as other information that is of public interest to residents, businesses and visitors. We encourage you to comment on our social media platforms with questions, comments, and concerns, but please note this is a moderated online discussion site and not a public forum. The Village of Glendale Heights reserves the right to delete the kinds of comments noted in the list below.

This list is not exhaustive, but representative of the types of comments that may be deemed inappropriate:

• Comments containing vulgar or threatening language;
• Personal attacks of any kind;
• Comments that promote, foster, or perpetuate discrimination on the basis of race, creed, color, age, religion, gender, marital status, genetics, status with regard to public assistance, national origin, physical or intellectual disability or sexual orientation;
• Comments not relevant to topic, or unintelligible comments;
• Spam or links to other sites;
• Comments that advocate illegal activity;
• Comments that promote particular services, products, or political organizations or causes;
• Comments that infringe on copyrights or trademarks;
• Comments that include personally identifiable medical information; or
• Comments that include information that may compromise the safety, security or proceedings of public systems or any criminal or civil investigations.
