Safety Town is a one week summer program designed to acquaint children with safety practices using verbal instruction, reinforced with visual aids and physical application. It consists of a classroom, pond, miniature buildings, streets, sidewalks, and a railroad caboose. Safety Town is a cooperative effort by the Village departments, the Glenside Fire Protection District, businesses and residents, using a minimum of Village funds. 95% of the cost was raised through donations of cash, materials and labor.
