The Glendale Heights Police Department is launching a surveillance sharing program called GLENDALE HEIGHTS S.E.E.S. (Second Eyes Evidence Sharing).
In an effort to reduce
crime, increase the safety of our Village and identify criminals, the Glendale Heights Police Department would like to partner with residents and business owners who have
surveillance systems that record public areas and are willing to share their footage with the Glendale Heights Police Department should a crime be caught on camera. Residents
and business owners can register their information, including the location of their cameras, with the Police Department. This information will be available ONLY to our Officers
and Detectives who respond to criminal incidents, and gives them the ability to see the location of cameras, and contact the registered partner to see if there is footage to
assist with an investigation.
- Residents and business owners who have private surveillance cameras that record public areas would register their location with the police department.
- Police personnel will store registration information on a secure computer to be provided only to officers and detectives who respond to criminal incidents.
- The officer/detective will have the ability to see the locations where private cameras are recording public areas and allow them to contact the registered surveillance
partner to see if there is footage available to assist with their investigation.
- Registered owners will only be asked to share footage that pertains to a specific criminal act for use as evidence to assist with an investigation.
- The Glendale Heights Police Department will never have direct access to private surveillance. It will require resident and business owners' cooperation to obtain
footage.
- Download and complete the registration form.
- Return the registration to the Glendale Heights Police Department via personal delivery, U.S. mail at
