Police Commission

The Glendale Heights Board of Police Commissioners consists of five (5) members apointed by the Village President, with the advice and consent of the board of trustees, whose terms of office are three (3) years and until their respective successors shall be appointed and has qualified.

The Board of Police Commissioners has charge of all appointments to and dismissals from the police department, except in the case of the Chief of Police. The Police Commission also conducts all entrance and promotional examinations in the manner required by law.

The Board of Police Commissioners operate under established rules and regulations. The Police Commission last amended their rules and regulations on March 13, 2024, effective as of March 24, 2024.
