Parking Ticket Review

Recipients of a parking ticket may take one of the following steps to address a parking and/or ordinance compliance violation(s):

  • Pay the fines and fees, accepted via mail or in person at Police Department Records window, which deem the violation satisfied.
CITATIONS ISSUED PRIOR TO MAY 12, 2020:
  • Complete a Review of Citation form, which will be reviewed first by the officer who issued the citation and then by the Watch Commander for final determination. A printable version of the Review of Citation form is available through the link below. All Review of Citation forms must be turned in to the Police Department Records section in person.

  • Request an adjudicatory hearing. As specified on the violator's copy of the citation, the violator must appear in person, during normal business hours to make such request. The Records Section will prepare and maintain all forms of requested hearings, and process all hearings through the Village Attorney. The violator retains the right to appeal the hearing officer's decision to the DuPage County Circuit Court.
CITATIONS ISSUED ON OR AFTER TO MAY 12, 2020:

Beginning May 12, 2020, the Village of Glendale Heights began utilizing an adjudication process for the mediation of all parking and local ordinance tickets. If one is a resident of the Village and receives a parking ticket, on the ticket is a hearing date should you wish to be heard in regards to the violation. Hearings are held at Village Hall, 300 Civic Center in the Council Chambers. Simply report on the date assigned and check in with the clerk.

The Village of Glendale Heights allows citizens to contest parking violations by mail, in lieu of appearing in person at the scheduled hearing date for the violation.
